Our Story
Founded in 2015, Foundation for Nonprofits supports Arizona nonprofit organizations by offering free consulting services with experts to build capacity and strengthen management. Our network of hands-on volunteers offer expertise and talent in a wide range of fields nonprofit organizations need to succeed.
Many nonprofit organizations operate in a perpetual starvation cycle that prevents them from investing in their own infrastructure. Investing in an organization’s own infrastructure requires capital in two forms: financial capital and knowledge capital.
As funders have grown increasingly aware of the need for nonprofit organizations to invest in themselves, funding for investment in organizational infrastructure has become increasingly available. Despite this increase in available funding, the need for knowledge capital has remained high and available resources scarce. Foundation for Nonprofits answers this need.
Foundation for Nonprofits’ mission is to make knowledge capital available to Arizona nonprofit organizations. Our team is comprised of experts and professionals that bring an impressive array of skill sets to Arizona nonprofit organizations. Whether a client needs assistance with negotiating a lease, strategic planning, re-shaping a board of directors, or fundraising assistance, our team is ready and available to assist free of charge.
Our Programs
The Queue
Securing an invitation to join a nonprofit board without assistance can be elusive. And many nonprofit organizations struggle to find the right board members for their organization. In conjunction with our Board Development Consulting practice, Foundation for Nonprofits operates The Queue, a board matching tool for the state of Arizona. Foundation for Nonprofits utilizes The Queue to match individuals and the nonprofit organizations that need them.
Community Corps
Every organization needs a community of supporters. Foundation for Nonprofits’ Community Corps is a mutual support community. Community Corps members are recruited from community leaders and have exclusive opportunities to access Foundation for Nonprofits support and mentorship in their role as a community leader. Additionally, Community Corps members may receive invitations to exclusive opportunities to participate in Foundation for Nonprofits projects.
Nonprofit Leadership Education & Training
Passion draws individuals to found, work in, and serve nonprofit organizations, but passion without knowledge can be a detriment to ongoing success. Foundation for Nonprofits offers training, mentorship, and coaching in a variety of areas to support and elevate nonprofit leadership.
Board Development Consulting
Board development is the ongoing process of building and maintaining a strong board to keep organizations focused on meeting their mission effectively, with accountability, and in compliance with the law. Foundation for Nonprofits team members work with client boards to create and implement stronger and more effective leadership and governance.
Resource Library
More available knowledge is always better than less. Foundation for Nonprofits offers current and past clients access to our extensive library of handouts, presentations, and other resources.
